World Narcolepsy Day: Focusing on Support
This year, for World Narcolepsy Day, I want to highlight the available support for those living with narcolepsy in Australia, rather than dwell on the challenges we face.
For individuals with narcolepsy, joining an online support group can be incredibly beneficial. It creates a space where you can openly discuss your experiences without the fear of judgment, surrounded by people who truly understand what you’re going through.
A Fact to Consider: Unless you have narcolepsy, it’s difficult to comprehend how challenging even simple tasks can be. If I had a dollar for every time someone said they felt tired when I explained why I couldn’t do something, I’d have quite a bit saved up.
Yes, everyone gets tired, but there’s a profound difference between general fatigue and the unique exhaustion that comes with narcolepsy.
I invite you to share my video—not only to raise awareness but also to help those who may be living with undiagnosed narcolepsy find answers to their symptoms and live more fulfilling lives. World Narcolepsy Day Awareness video
A heartfelt thank you to the members of my “Living with Narcolepsy in Australia” Facebook support group and the contributors from NODSS for sharing their experiences for this awareness video.
